RESPONSIBLITIES:
- Maintain, drive, supervise, and implement plastic blow mold standards, systems, and processes.
- Performs standard troubleshooting with machine, tooling, materials, and product quality in blow mold processing.
- Works closely with Operations, Tooling, and Maintenance Departments to maintain accurate process monitoring, control, and troubleshooting to resolve complex production problems.
- Complete preventative maintenance requirements for mold and machines.
- Evaluate processes and molds, recommend changes to existing tooling, introduction to new tooling, machinery, equipment, and processing technologies.
- Ensures that molds undergo proper testing, including first article testing, and authorizing their production release.
- Implement new products and processes into manufacturing.
- Carries out tool trials/resin trials and leads new tooling qualifications.
- Reviews parts and first samples and makes recommendations to improve production & molding conditions.
- Ensure special instructions for manufacturing are followed by molding and production technicians.
- Investigate and recommend new technologies and innovations in tooling, equipment, and robotics.
- Responsible for the training and performance management of team members to ensure that each line is staffed with qualified and motivated individuals.
REQUIREMENTS:
Education: Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.)
Experience, Skills, and Abilities
- Must have 5 to 8 years of related experience in plastic blow mold manufacturing.
- Knowledge and experience in Blow Mold Manufacturing end from machining functions through full assembly.
- Must be able to identify and understand the function of all standard mold components, expert on machine operation, troubleshooting, and operational excellence.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and ensure the engineering files are managed to the latest levels.
- Ability to learn new technology.
- Some processing experience is desired to help bridge gaps between part/tool design and processing.
- Self-directed - operates with little or no direction.
- Mold-flow experience is a plus.
