Dr. Mai Nguyen is an associate professor at Amsterdam School of International Business. She is known for working as a bridge between cross-cultural communication and the field of neuroscience. Following her study at King’s College London in a Master program on Applied Neuroscience, in 2020, she published her latest book Cross-Cultural Management with Insights from Brain Science (Routledge). As a consultant, she specialises in organisational neuroscience, bringing contribution of brain science to further understanding and successful practises of leadership, diversity, change, bias management, and well-being. Nathan Gehlert, Ph.D., is a Fulbright U.S. Scholar, serving as a Visiting Faculty in Psychology at Fulbright University Vietnam. He is a Licensed Professional Counselor who earned his doctorate from Loyola University Maryland, USA, in 2011. He was honored at graduation as the inaugural recipient of the Barry K. Estadt Medal of Excellence for his work as a clinician, educator, and scholar. Dr. Gehlert keeps an active research agenda in the areas of motivational interviewing, multicultural counseling, personality theory, and the psychology of religion and spirituality. He also provides executive coaching to business leaders, supporting talent development and the achievement of professional and personal goals.

Dr. Gehlert has been active in the psychology field in Vietnam since 2015, teaching and lecturing at Vietnam National University, Fulbright University, the University of Medicine and Pharmacy, the University of Economic and Finance, and Hoa Sen University. During the COVID-19 pandemic, he led a workshop for over 800 frontline healthcare workers in Vietnam to support their positive coping and self-care. His research on this project was recently published in the Harvard Public Health Review.
At his home institution, John Carroll University, Dr. Gehlert serves as Chair of the Department of Counseling. In 2017, he was awarded USD $1.3 million by the U.S. Health Resources and Services Administration to establish the Integrated Behavioral Health Specialization, a training program that supports student internships in underserved communities.

Outside of his professional life, Dr. Gehlert’s passion for culture, nature, and food has taken him to 43 countries and 49 U.S. states. As an adventurer, he’s an avid paragliding pilot and trekker who is particularly drawn to the solitude of the wilderness.

Mr. Tan graduated with a Master of Management from Université Libre de Bruxelles (ULB, Belgium). He has nearly 20 years of experience in investment analysis, equitization consulting, capital market development and has made a significant contribution to the construction and development of Vietnam’s stock market. He started his career path at Peregrine Capital Vietnam, researching investment projects in capital markets and building models for the Vietnam stock market.

After that, he co-founded Dragon Capital in 1994 and held the position of Director of investment and capital markets until 2003. During that time, he was involved in consulting equitization procedure for more than 20 companies, including large companies listed in the early days of the stock market establishment such as: REE Corporation, Gemadept Corporation, Long An Food Processing Export JSC (Lafooco)… and held many senior C-Suite positions in many joint stock companies. Currently, he is a board member and founder of Dragon Capital Group that runs capital of over 1.2 billion USD, investing in the private sector & equitized firms.

In 2003, representing Dragon Capital’s investment in a joint venture with Sacombank, Mr. Tan established and became the CEO of VFM. During the early years, he directed and transformed VFM into a leading capital management company in Vietnam, offering diverse financial products and services that optimize investment efficiency. On the occasions of Vietnam Entrepreneurs Day, Mr. Tan was awarded certificates of the “Outstanding Vietnamese Entrepreneur“ and “Entrepreneur of Ho Chi Minh City“ by the HCMC People’s Committee. He is a permanent member of the Best Listed Companies, a member of Vietnam Association of Securities Business (VASB) and the Chairman of Vietnam Fund Management Club.

Since December 2020, he has been the Vice Chairman of Dragon Capital Vietfund Management (DCVFM).

Ms. Nguyen Phi Van holds an MBA from Australia majoring in marketing communication. Her experience spans over 20 years as a senior executive in brand, retail, and franchise development across global emerging markets in Asia, The Middle East, Africa, and Eastern Europe. She has engaged in various national projects in developing the creative economy and the entrepreneurship network for various governments such as Malaysia, Singapore, Saudi Arabia. Currently, she is an advisor to Project 844 which is under the Ministry of Science and Technology of Vietnam on startup & innovation, Chairwoman of Asean Business Angel Alliance, Open Innovation Vietnam, and an angel investor with a portfolio of 23 companies.

Ms. Phi Van is the award winner of Retail Leadership presented by Asia Retail Congress in 2015, award winner of 100 Top Great Retail Minds presented by World Retail Congress in 2017 & 2018, award winner of ASEAN Outstanding Business Award 2019, and has been curated in Top 100 powerful women of the global franchise industry 2019 & 2020. Phi Van is the author of seven books, “Franchising – The Short Route to Global Markets”, “Cross The Rice Field, Reach The World”, “Go Global: An MSME’s guide to global franchising”, “I, The Future and The World”, “In Search of Myself”, “Nym – My Future Self”, and recently “Opening the Future”.

Ton That Anh Vu is currently the Chief Human Resources Officer at Manulife Vietnam. He is responsible for driving the people agenda and human resources priorities for Manulife’s entities in Vietnam.

Vu has built his professional career in the banking & finance sector in Vietnam and Canada. He has held various management roles in the areas of retail banking, trade finance, risk management, compliance, communications, and human resources. He was the Country Head of Human Resources for HSBC and Prudential in Vietnam from 2011 to early 2018. His recent appointment was Director, Global Trade & Banking with CIBC in Toronto.

Vu has obtained his MBA from Maastricht School of Management. Outside of work, he is an avid swimmer, a fan at Tennis Grand Slams and can drink coffee anytime.
