Not just providing snapshot about current challenges in talent recruitment and retention, the workshop offered an opportunity for participating guests to share and discuss their insights and strategic approaches to move forward.

According to key findings of Talentnet’s Executive Search & Selection Services (ESS) based on data collection and analysis from 2014 to 2017, recruitment landscape in Vietnam has witnessed several trends in the past four years, ranging from sector, function, level to gender. Hot industries in recruitment include Industrial, Financial Service – Trading and Retail which are said to attract increasing amount of foreign investment as well as young and skilled workforce. Regarding recruitment based on job function, top four most in-demand jobs are HR, Marketing, Production and Legal – Compliance.

“Surprisingly, it is shown that the number of board members who are female has increased up to 40%, which means more and more women are proving that they are highly capable of business success”, said Ms Nguyen Thi Quynh Phuong – Director of ESS, Talentnet.

Besides, since talent acquisition is absolutely critical to execute business strategies, there are several challenges recruiters have been facing which requires insightful understanding and robust tactics in place. Below are some top market insights that TA should bear in mind in this digital age:

Talent war due to more local players joining and start-ups emerging
Knowledge in various fields required for many roles at senior levels
Senior position is usually paid out of range
Technology innovation has disrupted way of working

“By understanding market, making use of data analytics for workforce planning and maximizing digital power to enlarge talent pool, a TA can go extra miles in their expertise, becoming a facilitator, advisor or even strategic partner of business leaders. Because after all, right talents are found to serve business needs”, said Ms Nguyen Thi Quynh Phuong.
